Somebody LOATHES Sinton

i was at the Walmart in Portland last night and couldnt believe my eyes. there was a small dark colored pickup with one of those "Calvin" look-a-like window stickers relieving himself on a Sinton never-ending "S" sticker. of course this guy/gal could have been from any of the area towns. but why would someone devote so much hate to one school? and to Sinton's credit, there wasn't "GET OVER IT" keyed into the side of the pick-up. this guy really needs some help.

me too, but I'm actually not surprised. Alot of folks from Sinton have stopped putting the Neverending 'S' on their vehicles b/c so many of them have had their car keyed. :mad: Luckly, I still haven't had that happen to me.

Just one minor observation, P44, of the "guy/gal" line above----if they were standing to do the dirty deed--- it just MAY have been a GUY, eh P44?? :D

I can honestly say that I DO NOT think it was someone from GP. with a overall record of 30-1 (?), Sinton is not on our rival radar. I can see Cal Allen as the pissy, but not Sinton. But even then, every town has it's Bubba's.

I've worked in Portland for a couple of years now, and I can say there is no real rivalry between Sinton and Portland. Sinton fans look forward to this game because taking out Portland would look so good in the books. Portland, on the other hand, doesn't really feel threatened by Sinton. It is more of a warm-up game for them. Being from Sinton, I tend to get a lot of heckling at work, especially after a loss, but nothing could ever compare to the uproar I received when Sinton beat G-P in their field in 02. I really wouldn't call it a rivalry, but there is some bitterness. Then again, I this does not apply to all Sinton/G-P fans. Personally, I think its just a good game to watch.

You don't know the history of "The Big One" do you? Gp was in "The Big One" in 1971. We lost in the final second 20-21 after Marty Akins missed an extra point going for the tie and a win on penatrations. Research before sticking foot in mouth.:doh:

The reason Cuero was in 3A with Gp was because of inrollment. That is why Gp played Cuero all the time in the 60's and 70's.

Who the hell is twisting things? These are the facts. Someone stated Gp has never been to the "Big One" (State Campionship for you Sinton fans). I called him out and corrected him. Next, he claimed it didn't count as the big one because Gp was in 3A (To my understanding, all classifications have a "Big One"). Then someone brings Cuero in to the fight. I stated that Cuero used to be in the same class as Gp back in the 70's. Gp has grown to a 4A classification and Cuero has remained. Now tell me where I twisted things?

But I would say we're an average of 20 lbs smaller. We have a real good QB and RB's. Defense was giving up passes against Ray. I think we'll beat King, squeek by Sinton and lose to Carroll. Minus Davis and a few stout OL, I thought this year's GP team looked more conditioned and gave more effort against Cuero in scrimmage than last year's...

It seems that next week just can't seem to get here fast enough. Gp83 you are really making you and Portland look very bad on this site. Stereotyping people because of where they live is offensive. We are not a bunck of rednecks in Sinton, although I wll admit there are some here, but there are also some in Portland and everywhere else in Texas. Actually that was the State Championship game and you are right about the extra point but at that point penatrations didn't count in the State Championship Game and if it ended in a tie then they would have been co-champions. The shame is that G-P almost made it twice. One time they were so close to the goal on a fourth down and it looked like the ball carrier was over but the officials ruled he was not over the goal line. I wish they had gone for the field goal then which would probably have won the game. In the last few seconds G-P had the ball close at about the 12 but they got a big 15 yard penalty that put them back at the 27. Marty tried a long field goal but missed it. I wonder if he would have made it without the penalty. The odds would have been better. A shame indeed.

Also the G-P track teams have won state in both boys and girls I think. I know the girls have won it for sure.

Remember we have a big game this week against Taft so we need to worry about that first. The game is in Taft and they have a new dynamic coach that will have his team prepared and you know Taft is always extra tough in Taft. Then we can worry about G-P but first things first.

If I were to have to judge Sinton as a whole, based on the personalites that I've grown to know on here, I wouldn't want to live there and be represented by them.

naaa its not that bad... we are a friendly bunch... but when one of gets in it... we are a big family... if it affects one, it affects all... i guess you gotta live here to understand how strong the bond in Sinton is
