They met halfway at the Hardin-Jefferson field for a lively scrimmage. Splendora technically has a good center-punch game. They ran their traps and quickhitters to perfection getting their two TD in the course of the long scrimmage. They however were denied anything around the ends and also were intercepted on most all passes. This team has great sportsmanship and came to play and to get better.
Bridge City scored four times with many long gains. The backfield was very quick and made good on-field decisions. They had the more talented offensive backfield players. The smallness on their line proved a disadvantage to the tackle-to-tackle surges of the big Splendora backs. The defense was spotty on line play but the secondary rotated very well and played coverage well except for one blown-coverage play.
It was a good scrimmage and beneficial to both teams. Both will have their hands full upon entering District play.
