2005 World Championship Little League Softball Championship Tonight on ESPN2!

The game is going on right now between the South (McLean, Virginia) and the East (Orange, Connecticut). After three innings the score is South 3 East 2. McLean made the finals last year losing to Waco Midway who did not make it to the finals this year which is very rare so both teams are trying to take advantage to win a world series with Waco's absence. The South is the visiting team.

In the top of the fourth the South got another run and leads 4 to 2. This is beginning to be a batter's duel rather than a pitcher's duel or so it seems. We will see.

In the bottom of the fourth the South gets three up three down and now they get to bat at the start of the fifth inning.

In the top of the fifth the South gets two more runs and leads 6 to 2. The most the East has ever scored in a game at these series is 4 runs but they are capable of scoring and coming back. We will see.

In the bottom of the fifth the East threatened but the South held on and still leads 6 to 2. The shame is that with two runners on bases with two outs the East batter made a big hit to the right field and the runner came around third and could have scored easily but made a judgement error and stopped and ran back to third while in the meantime another runner had been running to third. The South took advantage and got the third out easily. A big opportunity for the East. What a shame. But that is softball so the South is winning 6 to 2 as we go to the sixth inning.

South is one out away from winnng but bases are loaded for the East!!
