Another Preseason poll by TPX

I wonder if anybody has the time to take all the polls and make a combined poll. Meaning... that all of the polls are represented and sorted out.... kinda like the BCS poll.

Last season, one of our posters took several polls, including Matthew328's & the AP, and made a composite poll. I'm hoping he'll do the same again this season, even though he did get a hard time from a couple of folks.

If someone would let me know what all rankings have been released I'll put something together.

I took 3 polls and just applied points in reverse order of rankings and this is the combined ranking. I don't know if this makes sense but this is what it looked like when I did it this way.

I htink the most legit poll has to be the texas highschool coaches association poll. after all they know more about the teams they play and who is going to be good more that most outsiders. anyone have that one??

This is the Texas Highschool Coaches Asociation poll? I assume that the numbers by each in parenthasis are the number of Number one votes each recieved..

Marlin is No. 1 in THSCA poll
SAN ANTONIO, July 23, 2005 - The Marlin Bulldogs are the top-ranked teams in the state among media covering the Texas High School Coaches Association's Coaching School.

While Cuero received more first place votes (7 to Marlin's 4), the Bulldogs' overall total in voting was better.

In Class 2A, Mart is ranked No. 11.

The THSCA poll gives an early indication of how the Associated Press poll may look. Many of the same voters, who cover high school football vote on both polls.

The AP poll, which will be released in August, will be a weekly poll throughout the regular season and will pick a Top 10. The THSCA media pick only a pre-season Top 15 in each classification.

No thats not what it said. It said that the AP poll usually lookes like or somewhat like the coaches poll. the coaches poll is a poll of what the coaches believe are the best teams in the state.

THAT'S what it says Magic. The THSCA Preseason "Media" Poll, is apparently just that, a glorified sportswriter's poll. That is unless of course, coaches vote on ihe AP poll, which I'm pretty sure they don't.:p

However, recognition is still recognition, so congrats on the #3 ranking.;)

Uhhhhh..... I believe the THSCA poll is a poll taken of all the coaches oppinions and NOT sports writers.. Thats why they call it the "Coaches Poll"... It comes out before the AP poll . the AP poll and the THSCA poll look alot alike most of the time. I believe the coaches are the ones that usualy give the sports writers thier info anyway.
