Out in West Texas it has to be Lamesa, Lamesa , Lamesa. Just ask Pecos and Lubbock Cooper.

Have to give credit to Shipley And Miller out of Burnet. Most of Shipley, the former west texas kid.

Miller is a weapon, he is big and fast, Ronald Isom from Elgin is very fast too.

South texas- Port Isabel Tarpons have some pretty good speed....including our Track state champ Numero 21! As far as the speed goes, it's there...I don't know about their passing play.

Last year manor had a kid named Omont Wash i know he already graduated but he was the fasted kid on the field i have ever seen. He went to state in the 200, and beat Isolm in the 100 and obviously the 200. And beating Isolm speaks volumes of his speed this kid was a hoss on the field too, he had about 20 or so touchdowns through the air, special teams and rushing

Sinton's backfield is probably one of the fastest in all of 3A, with Adrian Alaniz, Bubba Heard and Julian Ruiz. Those are not the only fast ones on the team, Sinton's D is LOADED with speed.

pecos has much more speed than lamesa , lamesa was quicker in the trenches, remember when monahans used to send yall back home , yall were building once remember, thanks for recognizing us as a quality team since your bragging

All of the skill guys on La Vega have to run at least a 4.5. If you want to see speed drop by Bellmead and you wont have to look very hard.

HutHut, I dont know what you are smoking, but you have to be crazy if you think that Pecos is faster that Lamesa. Look at all the long runs that Lamesa put up against them. Where was Pecos' speed on those?

Also, Monahans has not sent Lamesa home from the playoffs since 96 0r 97 and that was Lamesa's firstc year to make the playoffs. Since then, Monahans has been a warmup for Lamesa every year going into the playoffs. Kinda like Pecos will be this year.

Isom has that kind of "Hearne" speed. Super fast but not really the kind of football fast. Or at least that was how it was last year....

Elgins quarterback #7 was beyond quick. I think he runs a 4.2 40

I don't know about this year, but last year Forney had a lot of speed. I was impressed with that guy, DaBryan Blanton. I saw that guy run and damn that boy is fast. I was disappointed to see him lose in the 200m dash at the state track meet. I don't know what went wrong. Forney always has fast players. I think they have some this year too. I'm like a big far away Forney fan. Well, I just became one.

Well I didn't really wanna chime in too much...most everyone knows Everman has plenty of speed...ask Daingerfield, Forney, Sinton or any of the other top teams to have seem the Bulldogs

i agree w/ hornet03 on the fact that la vega's guys are fast. i haven't seen them yet this yr but they always produce some of the fastest guys, especially in 17 3a.

Hey spaniard, it's not impossible. When I was in high school, we had a track star that ran a 9.7 100 yd. dash. Nowhere near the record for high Schools, but at the time Bob Hayes of the Dallas Cowboys had the world record at 9.1. 6/10 of a second difference is not bad for a Junior in high school back in '65.

Traditionally, I'd have to say Sealy, Daingerfield, Wilmer-Hutchins, Everman, Jasper, Newton and Marlin.

Daingerfield may always field the fastest team in state, but they are also the fastest players to land in jail.

I think that remark is uncalled for. Maybe in the distant past, but Coach McFarlin has gone to great lengths to weed out the type of hoodlums and renegades you describe.

I certainly hope so as I remember watching Daingerfield with all that talent. I know they've had difficulties with the law and it hurt their teams. Had they played it straight, they might have won many more state titles.

UR right, that comment could've been done with more taste...I was tasteless and for that I apologize.
