Gridders, spikers both see action here Saturday

Sweetwater High School is expected to be a busy place Saturday, and it has nothing to do with the start of classes for the 2005-06 year.
But it will signify a couple of other firsts -- the opening scrimmage for the SHS foot-ball team at Mustang Bowl and the first home matches for the SHS volleyball squad at the high school gym.
The Sweetwater freshman and JV football teams both host Midland Christian at 9 a.m., while the varsity skir-mish will begin about 10 a.m.
The SHS varsity and fresh-man volleyball teams play dual matches against Bronte and Woodson, respectively, that begin at 11 a.m.
There will be a voluntary admission charge of $2 for adults and $1 for students at the football scrimmage. Pro-ceeds will benefit the Texas High School Coaches Associ-ation's Benevolence Fund for families of athletes who have been injured playing sports.
Mustang T-shirts and caps will be available at Saturday's scrimmage, and a concession stand will be open.
