not any increases here.. along the same lines,, On the 27th we're traveling to NE Louisiana for my grandmother's 100th birthday.. We were going to take 2 vehs - but now, we're going to all ride together - hubby and I, 17 yr old son, older son with his wife and their 9 and 4 yr old daughters. THAT will be an interesting 9 hours on Saturday and we get to do it again on Sunday :) Figure we'll save enough on gas to justify the "togetherness" :D

I couldn't believe I pumped $30 in my Grand Am!!! That’s the most I have ever, ever paid. My MONTHLY home gas bill is $25 a month, what's wrong with that picture?

I will need to do some research on electrical cars or those vehicles that run on propane/butane one of those.

But at the same time we have to remember that we wouldn't want our wages to be decreased when gasoline prices go down again.

I'm converting my S-10 to propane this weekend. It's a cleaner burning fuel and right now cost about $1.50 a gallon.

On a similiar note: I'm trying to convince my employer to make cheap LPG conversions. There is not a better time to jump into this market than right now.
Ohh and LPG just jumped 8 cents a gallon last couple of days.:(

When I was in highschool in the very early 70's the price of gas hovered around $.36 to $.38 per gallon. I even remember during a price war between two stations the price dropping to $.18 per gallon. I couldn't believe it when it went to $.50. But then, I was only making $1.00 per hour back then pumping it at the Texaco station.:) :)

I remember the $.38 a gallon. Also when you stopped there was normally someone right there to ask if you wanted filled up, wipe your windshield and check your oil, and get free little gifts like stamps or a small tiger or dino the dinasourus(spelling):inlove:

Poor John Tyler!!!!!!!! What I wouldn't do to be a fly on the inside wall of that vehicle.....too much togetherness for me 44, especially if it was with my family....might be somebody killed if we tried to that, seriously!

How much to convert, SintonFan?

SintonFan
08-13-2005, 05:37 PM
Average conversion would be in the neighborhood of $1500.
.
I would check locally for a used conversion kit that would fit your motor. You can easily save $1000 bucks by doing that. Ask a local junkyard to check their network for a kit that matches your engine. This doesn't work for cars much(although it can be done), just trucks in general.

As we were driving into Austin to the scrimmage this morning, we were looking around at the price of gas & noticed one convenience store in Cedar Park at $2.39. About 4 hours or so later, on the way back, that same store was $2.49.
