With Barbers Hill passing another bond issue this weekend, perhaps its time to look at the early enrollment numbers. If the student population at BH stays unchanged for the next two years, Barbers Hill would have 872 students in high school. And by 2005, the numbers would be 935. But, BH picked up an additional 104 students this fall so an increase of half that number would put BH over the 900 mark. Any one else with fall figures? The Texas UIL has the option to change the upper or lower enrollment limits when the counts are done. Thus, the limits of 345-899 could be lower, higher or stay the same.

Are those numbers total school enrollment, or just high school enrollment? I am confused here...how do they get away with passing themselves off with lower student count? frown

I just checked the UIL site and under the football and basketball allignments for this year the numbers listed on the four teams were.
Burnet 858
Everman 896
Forney 821
Jasper 876
These numbers were all turned in for the last re-allingnments. Curently the Forney ISD web site says that Forney has over 860 students in high school. But at the rate that Forney is growing by the next time the numbers are considered again, Forney will be well over the current 899 limit.

Next realignment will be interesting...especially if 6A gets done...then the numbers will change big time...you'll prolly see a lot of big 3A's move into 4A if this happens...

Here's some information for thought for Barbers Hill fans. The rezoning committee in Baytown is seriously considering the proposal of combining Lee and Sterling high schools. Anyone who thinks that tradition will prevent such action should just look around at other schools. Most of the time, economics will win over sentiment. And if that happens, well I don't know if anyone remembers when Katy, Klein or Spring were small schools but BH may experience the same boom.

man i read that and almost wet my pants. i really didnt think that we were that big and got away with it. hehe, people from llano and other towns around us try and accuse us of turning in false numbers, but usually its towns like llano and surrounding towns in our district. anywhoo, thanks for helping me out there guys.
