1. Tatum- returns McCoy/Creer combo in the backfield as well as Blackmon (U of H) and Freeney (5 INT). Only Hodge will be missed but may help the team in long run because of negative plays.

2. Gilmer- returns only 4 starters but 16 lettermen that saw significant playing time. Dominating D and running game will make the Buckeyes less of the fastbreak/quickstrike offense and more like the Longhorns of last year with a 210 lb. back in J. Johnson and the returning fastest player on the team in junior QB Jamell Kennedy. They will have 2 capable receivers but not what they had last year.

3. Atlanta- after a subpar season they return the most starters of any team in the state. They will play a brutal non district schedule against 4A powers Marshall, Hallsville and Texas High. They always have the horses but I think they will be ready with more discipline.

4. Liberty Eylau- large Texarkana 3A school with size and talent. Always a threat but will place second in district because of Atlanta. No superstars to speak of but well balanced.

5. Canton-(surprise) Canton will have plenty of motivation and the talent to prove it. G.J. Kinne Jr. is only a junior but Tennessee as well as several other schools are touting this kid. He is 6'2 190 and runs a 4.7. Passed for almost 3,000 yds and 20 TD's while also rushing for 500 yds. Experienced receivers will help this spread attack come playoff time. (Good Luck)
