The State of Texas has gotten plumb serious about supporting expansion of the south Texas Navy bases. This morning's Caller-Times reports that Perry has allocated 365.2 million dollars to the mix contingent on Other missions moving to Ingleside and Kingsville. The BRAC commission has recommended closure for NAS Oceana in Virginia which is the largest Naval Air Training facility in the country. That could easily be moved to south Texas (with the help of $365.2 million).
