He was drafted in the fourth round in 1972 and played good football for the Dolphins even as a rookie even though other players on the defense got most of the credit. He was on the Dolpins team that had a perfect record during the season and playoffs. He also played for the Dolphins in their other NFL championship in 1873 even though that team lost a few games. In 1975 he played for Detroit and the next year he played on Tampa Bay's first year team which lost every game. Thus he has the distinction of being the only player in pro football to have played for a team that won all their games and a team that lost all their games.
