He had a western band during the fourties and fifities and man could he play the fiddle. His biggest hit was San Antonio Rose. He will be featured in the 1944 movie The Last Horseman on the Encore Western Channel on August 13 at 10:05 A.M. The movie is only 60 minutes long but you get to hear several of his great songs plus there is an interesting plot also. Worth watching indeed!
Also if you like Gene Autry he will be on the same channel in the great movie The Big Sombrero on August 7 and August 10 both days at 11:00 A.M. He was a big movie western singing star and later owned the California Angels.

What about Faded Love? Didnt he sing that also?

Yes indeed. This song is not to be confused with the Hank Williams Sr. song Faded Love and Winter Roses.

Bob Wills did it for real... from the 30s to the 70s.

If you listen to the CD "For the Last Time" and don't get a tear in the eye... then you don't get it.
