Liberty is Undefeated at 8-0. Region III, District 22. Last year my Panthers lost to Bellville by 10 in the Regional Round. Almost all the starters are back from last years team, and it is showing. I was just wondering why we have not even received a vote, in the AP Poll, when Matthew328 has us ranked # 10.

Go Panthers, District Champs, Perfect Regular Season '03.

At least Kennedale didn't drop a spot...kinda scared there cause we didn't throw up 80+ like some other team...

#5...not good enough....we'll keep goin for more...

I can't speak for Celina, but Daingerfield is probably better than they were last year. They are 7-1 with a 7 - 3 loss to a very good Atlanta team. A game in which they also lost 3 starting players early in the game to injury (they will be back this week). They are averaging over 30 points a game and giving up less than 7. I would not call that living in the past. They are very well the most talented team in Region II. Here are their scores from this year.

Daingerfield
42 Pitssburg 6
49 Gladewater 6
34 Chapel Hill 12
32 Jefferson 7
28 Lindale 16
28 Liberty Eylau 0
3 Atlanta 7
27 New Boston 7

Having allowed only 35 points all year, it looks like Gainesville is the real deal to me. That's a very stingy defense. Will they go D1 or D2?

Uh-Oh, look out Burnet, Gainesville is stealing your 1st place votes !!!I have always placed Gainesville, Forney, and Everman as Tier 1 teams with a good chance to win it all. The question is which one will make the title game.

sorry to dissapoint you paintball, but I feel none of the three you mention will win the title game, check the stats vs opposition, comapare schedules and strengths and I think you may find that none of them will. Now don't get me wrong, all have fine programs, great coaches and such, but the past accomplishments cannot play into the future. Can I pick 3 others? I say no, for each week can bring surprises with many factors coming into play, we must wait and see.

I say no, for each week can bring surprises with many factors coming into play, we must wait and see.I don't believe anyone's talking about their past accomplishments here, but their present accomplishments...

I believe there are more than just those three who can compete for the title, but those three mentioned have a REALLY great shot...

Also, strength of schedule and all of those other paper-items (not settled on the field items) and who beat who type stuff can't decide who who's better...

Say (and I'm not saying this would/could happen just saying 'pretend') that Forney played Burnet first game of the year... Forney beats Burnet...

Forney and Gainesville played in the playoffs and Gainesville beats Forney...

The state championship game comes along and it happens to be Gainesville and Burnet who are left standing after 4 weeks of D1 playoffs...

It's natural to go see who they've played etc..., right?

So you see that Gainesville beat Forney who beat Burnet, so Gainesville should beat Burnet because they've beaten a team that's beaten them, right?

WRONG: Maybe Gainesville would beat Burnet in this mock-year... But just because they beat someone that they lost to, doesn't mean they'll win...

Let's say in this mock-year that Forney's offense is different than Gainesville's offense, so Gainesville shouldn't score like Forney did if they run their regular offense... They may score more, but their may not score at all...

NOWWWWW, if Forney had a simular passing attack and offense to that of Burnet's, then I'd say Gainesville should atLEAST hold Burnet to around the same amount of points as they held Forney to because they've shown what they can do to that offense...

Get it?

You can't go by who played who...

Example: Last year Cuero beat Yoakum 10-3 in OT, Yoakum beat Gonzales the week before...

Cuero should win or atLEAST only lose by a few because Yoakum beat them, and we beat Yoakum, right?

What was the final score? Gonzales 42, Cuero 7 or 14 (I forget)?

Those type of ratings are for fun and temporary bragging rights...

---

Why is Celina still ranked

Dude, they just lost to one of the AP's top 3 teams...

If they would have lost to one of the AP's 10 rank or lower, they wouldn't be in the AP's top ten...
