USA Softball in Japan!

They are playing in the Japan Cup tournament and it consists of the top softball teams in the world: USA, Japan, Australia, and China. Today Japan beat China 4 to 0, the USA beat Australia 9 to 0 in 5 innings and Japan beat Australia 11 to 2 in 5 innings.
Tomorrow it will be USA vs China and USA vs Japan and Australia vs China.

On Sunday will be the finals the third and fourth place teams will play while the first and second place teams will play for the championship which will probably be a rematch with USA vs Japan. This will be the game that it really count so let's hope our ladies will get some revenge after what Japan did to us in Oklahoma.

The games above are in Yokohama, Japan and they are 14 hours ahead of us.

Also on August 3 and 4 the USA will be meeting Japan in a Sendai Series for three games. Let's hope we can also win two out of three of these.

I am sure everyone wishes our USA ladies the best as we continue to enjoy our wonderful sport.

It is almost 10 P.M. here on Friday night but in Japan it is almost 12 noon on Saturday and the USA Women's softball team is getting ready to play China. It is too bad it isn't on live television and we have to wait for results. :( After almost after that game we have to play Japan at 12:30 A.M. on Saturday our time.

The USA split in it's two games today. The USA beat China 5 to 0 with the CAT pitching and then in ten innings when a player is put on second to start the inning Japan beat them 1 to 0 but the real game that counts is tomorrow which is already there in Japan because it is almost 10:30 A.M. here right now as I type this but in Japan it is now about 12:30 A.M. on Sunday. Both teams knew they were going to have to meet again in the championship game tomorrow when it really counts and they didn't pitch their best pitchers. Let's hope the USA can win the cup and get a little revenge for what happened in Oklahoma. Go USA! Fight and Win!

Unfortunately when it really counted Japan beat us again in the championship game 3 to 0 to win their Japan Cup thus depriving the USA revenge for Oklahoma and sending a chilling fact that Japan may be poised to replace USA as the softball team in the world. The Japanese pitcher Ueno is an outstanding pitcher and must be matched by us. We had a young team and our pitchers, Finch, CAT, Southern, etc are going to be great as is our young batters when they get going but until then Japan will probably rule unless we get Lisa and Crystal back on the team. Japan has beaten us three straight times which is hard to swallow after our team had won 85 games in a row. We stil can get some revenge if we can win the Sendai series two out of three. It is disapponting but be encouraged because our ladies will get it together and turn it around. It is just an unusual situation for us in women's softball. Go CAT! Go USA!

Thanks for the good informative report. We have some great Pitchers coming in a few years. Maybe we can again gain dominance....
