Would you pay $950 for the chance to get back with your first love?

I have an oppurtunity to buy a '72 Chevelle for $950. It's kinda rough, doesn't have the same engine(mine was a 350 this is a 307) and the front grill needs to be replaced to a '73 model(my first love's year). All this is of course, muscle car talk. ;)
Would you buy this if you had the oppurtunity to restore something that was so close to your heart? Opinions please!

I'll probably have to invest 5 maybe 6 grand to get her purring just right.
My wife said to go for it, but added... "The kids might have to wear the same packbacks as last year." (those backpacks are still in pretty good shape if you ask me)
