I have info that Purvey from Gainesville failed his senior year and is coming back again can a athlete do that or what is the rules on that?

depends on how old he is, and did he fail the grade due to poor academical performance without any medical problems etc...

I'm pretty sure people get away with it, but it'd be hard for a high-profile player to...

You mean a player might intentionally fail just to play another year of HS football??????

he didn't fail, the principle wanted to fail him. he didn't get to walk the stage at graduation and he had to spend a few extra weeks in ISS.

I'm not real sure, but you can only play so many years. If you have played the number your allowed and fail, the next year you can not play.

You can't fail your senior year...you just don't earn enough credits to graduate OR you don't pass the TAKS exit level exams. If he was in ISS...what was the reason? I just don't see a player intentionally not graduating just to play football...that to me would be negative attention. Like GUNHO said...only so many years of play time and then you are out.

LOL, if that is the case he does not belong on the team...even if he does have a year left on eligibility... just my opinion.

I don't think this is the type of topic that should be discussed on this message board.
