I don't usually make this type of recommendation against giving our friends to the south some tourist business and enjoying their hospitality but that weekend is something different. The USA Men's National Soccer Team is playing Mexico on September 3 in a big world cup qualifying game and if the USA wins (and perhaps even if they lose) there will be much hostility toward the U.S. tourists. Remember soccer is very popular in Mexico and fans there are very passionate about it. There were problems that happened a few years ago when the USA beat Mexico in soccer. Please schedule your visits a week earlier or a week later this year. It is a shame they scheduled that game during Labor Day Weekend though. :(
