What district has the most state titles in the last 30 years? I know that District 14 has 4 teams with titles during that time period and D-field has several. District 13 down the road has 2 teams with titles in the last 30 years. Is there anywhere else in the state that can brag about this?

This is what I can recall for state chamionships by districts. District 13 has two with Gilmer winning in 2004 and Pittsburgh winning in 1980. District 14 has Daingerfield who won twice (1983, 1985) and feel just short many other times. Jefferson who won in 1986. Liberty Elaue sometime in the mid to late 1990s not sure. Atlanta in 2003. District 19 has Cameron in 1981 and Lagrange in 2000. District 18 3a my district has Mexia 1989 and Groesbeck in 1991. What sucks about that is 89 and 91 we went to the state quaterfinals both year the farthest weve ever been and teams from our district won it both times. If Marlin wouldn't of dropped the ball in 03 more then half of our district would have state titles.

I hope that helps some.

Maybe so but I was listing state titles at the 3A level. So therefore thats why it didnt make the list and dosen't count.

i imagine wo-s and sealy would be among toppers of the list, i dont know about their districts, but im sure w/ the successes these teams have had in the past they are among the top. are you wanting teams that have won strictly 3A state titles in football or is any class allowed to be tallied? for instance, celina, if it were still 3A would the state titles they won be elligable for count in this thread or not?

I thought it was only state titles at the 3a level but I am not sure. Sealy has one 4 at the 3a level. But I was only counting 3a's when I was making that list.

well i think the easiest way to do it would be to look in dave campbells magazines, if memory serves correctly, he puts the past winners of the state titles in w/ the records, but i could be mistaken.

To me were on a 3a website why are we listing 2a and 4a titles. My stuff came from a website close to Dave Campbells.

I guess you have to look the question like this: "Which district's teams have the most state titles" or something... if not, it's be a hard question to answer, or pointless... teams moving in and out, up and down etc... (example: when I was in high school Cuero was in 27-3A, 26-3A and 29-3A)

But Sealy has 5 total, '78 or '79 in 2A (The Eric Dickerson days) and 4 in a row back in the 90's, 1 of those won while they were a region 3 team, the others as Region 4...

Dunno how the other teams in the district shape up with titles etc..., but Sealy may have that district won by themselves...

However, you ask in the last '35' years, I can give our district 3 ha...

A state title is a state title.

WOS has two, but I don't think anyone else from the district has one during the time frame.

kind of what i was thinking. the answer to this question changes every 2 years. the answer for our distict is 2. if we get aligned just right, next year if could be as many as 10.

Regardless of the class a state title is a state title and it will always be remembered. Some districts have multiple state champion winners other districts don't have any. I would have to say that a majority of the state titles have come from the area around Sealy, LaGrange and up thru Milam and Limestone counties. Northeast Texas also has many champs.
