I just saw on the new high tech radar, that the local weather man has, it showed that the hurricane outerbands, are even reaching up to Victoria! So even folks in the CC coastal area need to keep up with the Emily.

it's officially a 3 now, at 125mph. Expected to get to a 4 before landfall, now there talking about something (didn't quite understand what) changes in the next 30 miles that it will move up more north and hit us directly! But, I guess we are better prepared than those poor people in Mexico with there not so sturdy homes.

Just saw the infamous Jim Cantore on the Weather Channel. He's on the beach at South Padre getting soaked.

What is the latest news on the hurricane? Where is the eye crossing? What towns are just to the east of the eye where the highest surge hits?

Emily was stationary for about an hour and now is finally moving but only 5-7 mph, which means it can only get stronger. Now landfall has been moved out until 4:00am or so, from 2:00am. So far it (eye of the hurricane) is expected so make landfall about 40-70 miles south of Brownsville/PI/SPI area, unless it moves a little more north than it (eye) will go right into area, instead of northen Mexico.

Here you go old cardinal

I just got back from trying to tow in a broken down Shrimping Trawer about 16 miles off Port Aransas. We left at 9am this morning and got back at 10pm. The seas when we got out there were about 6-8ft and by the time we left were 15-20ft. It was quite a ride. If you have never seen a 20 foot swell when you are in the trough it can be quite intimidating. The trawler was too heavy for us to tow so he had to drop his anchor and ride out the storm. They had a choice to ride in on our ship or stay on theirs. They all chose to ride it out on their ship. Hope those guys make it.

It has sprinkled in Cuero on and off this AM, but I hear it's been raining cats and dogs in Victoria
