State Bound Flag???

I just got a quote for a 20X30 inch flag (made out of actual flag material) and the 3adownlow logo embroidered on one side for $25 - $30 dollars. I think this is a great price, what are your thoughts?

The flag will actually be 2 pieces of the flag material with a piece of white felt sewn in between. (Otherwise it is thin and I am afraid the signatures may bleed all the way through). She asked if I wanted the rommets (sp) on it and I said "no"...I don't see anyone flying the flag.

So it will just have a sewn border around all 4 sides. I know Jason will be gone until Wednesday and since we are kinda in this together I wanted his imput. I left him a message on his phone, but I need to get back to this lady tomorrow to let her know for sure what I want, so I may have to make an "excecutive decision" without him, If I don't hear back.

Now....if we decide to go with this, what do we want on it?

That's true...I wonder if the sharpies would bleed? I have an overhead projector AND and old opaque projector....and I know how to paint!!

What do yall think? If we went that route, I could just make the flag myself and color it.....it wouldn't look AS professional as being embroidered, but we wouldn't be limited as to what could put on there.

I can buy the material and sew it myself.....the lady quoted $5 a yard to me.....so we are looking at less than $10 for the flag material...and I can't see where the felt would cost that much at all.

I'm sure my sewing won't look as good as what she can do, but I can sew a straight line!:D

Lemme know what yall wanna do so I can get to work on some ideas. I can make several different things up and scan them in and we can vote.

In talking to Jason earlier, he said he wants it to be in colors that stand out. White is kind of out since we are doing it on a white flag. I will try black and blue and see what we think...be back in a few!!

Okay then, how about Crimson??jk...I vote for the third one. Now if we could just figure out how to incorporate each schools colors.

What if we made a small band of some sort to go around the edge with small squares of each schools colors along with the school name on their square? This could then be sewn around the edge of the flag!

1). Someone that is not involved in the football program, (other than having a child who plays), ie: player, band member, trainer, coach, etc.

2). Someone that owns or has quick access to a digital camera.

3). Someone who has the time and resources to get it boxed up and to the post office (if we do a bigger flag, we are looking at a little higher cost in shipping this time).

Thoughts anyone???

Okay...I just bought some thin white vinyl with fabric backing that I am gonna experiment on. (Thanks for the idea YaYa)!

I signed it with a black sharpie and it has absolutely NO bleed through! The only thing is if you don't let it dry for about 4-5 seconds it will smear.

I found it kind of difficult to write on the T-shirt material myself last season.

Anyway, I bought 2 yards to play with since it was on clearance and only paid $3.88 for it, so if it doesn't work it's no big deal.

I took the swatch I signed yesterday and poured Dr. Pepper on it.....it came right up without messing up the signature!
