For those in the downlow family who are keeping up. After much praying, soul searching, and urging of his parents, My son (Z Motion jr as I call him) offically transfered to Hardin-Simmons and will play football for the Cowboys this coming year. He leaves Southeastern Oklahoma State where he was on a conference championship team in 04. He will play in the defensive backfield for the Cowboys. My friends in Abilene, it looks like I will be making a lot of trips to town this year!

Southeastern has a great team coming back. Great head coach who will keep the Savages in contention. Also a good school, but too far away from home among other things. Also his immediate playing opportunities were slim for the next two years and he is ready to get some game time. He leaves with good relations and 1 year of college under his belt.

I think that HSU is a good move. They have had good success there and Abilene is a pretty decent town. Good luck to JR. I hope that he is able to make a smooth transition and get some quality time on the field this year.

Mychal Carrillo is playing for hardin smmons this year too!!:D

yes when we were visiting with the coaches they mentioned that. They have some good players returning so they should be very good again this year.

Mychal was a heck of a player. I went to a game when he was a freshman at Southwestern.

ditto....we have a young man from Aransas Pass that just graduated and signed with them. George Alvarado, very nice kid and extremely talented too...:thumbsup:

HSU won their conference last year too
