Kind of like the guy that went into the store:

Say do you have

No we don't have any

Do you know if they

No they don't have any. They used to but not any more. Say why don't you try

I already tried there

From someone who's had experience racking up a huge bill from text messages, it's a lot easier than it sounds! There are plans you can purchase with an allotted number of "free" text messages, and that ends up a lot cheaper because without a plan, per text message is usually 10 cents, on a plan it usually figures up to be one cent or so. I suppose you could get text messaging disabled on a phone plan. I've been intending to ask my phone service about that so I won't be tempted... Good luck, RangerMom!

$137.10 to be exact!!

No..I don't have any kind of text plan on the phones, I just told them not to go over 100 a month.

Needless to say, Jordan no longer has the ability to text from his phone.

I looked at his last few messages:

Hey

hey

Sup?

nada..u?

nm

ditto here

We had to change our plan to unlimited text messages because my fiance's friend feels the need to send a message every 5 minutes. I thought only girls talked that much on the phone or used text messages all the time, boy was I wrong!

I'll just put a number up ....364.... that was the bill my Daughter ran up with text messaging and going over her minutes in one month mostly text messaging . Talk about wanting to grab someone and ask what the heck were you thinking ......well the yard was mowed for free for quite a while along with other extra chores but I couldnt stay mad at my Daughter she knew it and I knew it, she got her phone back and im back to mowing the grass :D

Maybe I'm getting old...wouldn't be quicker and less expensive to just call the person. I've text'd someone before and I got frustrated and just called them.

I agree.....sorta!!

I have to admit when the season was underway last year, texting sure made it easier to exchange scores. LHPanthermom sent me text last season during a game, but I was calling her. We couldn't even hear each other....that's when I took a crash course in the text feature on my phone!

But why not just call them in the first place? Less expensive and you can actually get more conversation in. Much more than "hey", "sup", Nada-u".

I can text on a cell phone like crazy...I don't have to look at the numbers now...and I really never thought that the conversations would last that long...

I believe one reason they text (especially) during school is to forego a ringing phone which is prohibited. Just my guess, but one of my son's friends that was on another campus last year was doing this UNTIL I got the first big phone bill. Since it is summer .... who the heck knows, habit?:)

I think I have been insulted!!:(

Here is what I found in the Spanish to English Dictionary for "Cochina"!

cochina
1 (cerdo) pig
(cerda) sow
2 fam (persona sucia) pig, filthy person

II adj (sucio) filthy, disgusting

The other day the DJ was giving his sidekick a hard time about his habit of text messaging... apparently, he does it all the time... he'd rather text you than talk on the phone... the DJ said he had called him only to go to voice mail but then received a text message a few seconds later... lol The DJ then asked the sidekick how many text messages did his last bill claim he made... over 3400 was his response... I was floored...

It was used to mean "filthy person" and I wouldn't be offended - I think it's great that things are still "hot" in any marriage these days... keep texting

It could be worse. Three years ago my son's girlfriend and her family went to the Bahamas for four days. She had a calling card and because of a personal issue (we will now call my grand daughter) that nobody else knew about, the girl called my son several hundred times. When her parents checked out of the hotel, there was a telephone charge of nearly $600.

Eventually, they talked them down to $300 but even so that is alot for a four day vacation.
