This year's field of 64 at the seven on seven state tournament in College Station is truly a statewide field. Schools in Class 5A through Class 2A are represented and there are schools from every part of the state represented as well, from the panhandle down to the Rio Grande Valley. As expected Class 5A dominated the number of entries in the state tournament as there are 38 Class 5A schools in the 64 team field. Class 4A has 18 entries, while Class 3A has 5 entries and Class 2A has 3 entries.

Breaking down the field by regions of the state here is how it breaks down. Greater Houston leads the way with a total of 21 qualifiers: Bay City, Cypress Creek, Stafford, Klein, Friendswood, Houston Stratford, Houston Langham Creek, Cypress Fairbanks, Katy, Rosenberg Terry, The Woodlands, Conroe, Brenham, Baytown Lee, Spring Westfield, Katy Cinco Ranch, Katy Taylor, Fort Bend Marshall, Houston Bellaire, Humble Kingwood and Houston Strake Jesuit.

Dallas-Fort Worth comes in second place with 15 qualifiers, 3 spots in the DFW qualifiers were "stolen" away from schools from outside of the area who came into tournaments, as this summer many of the SQT's in DFW featured teams from other parts of the state, and this could be a trend that continues next summer. The DFW qualifiers are: Colleyville Heritage, Arlington Lamar, Lewisville Hebron, Celina, Allen, Plano, Grapevine, Haltom, Mabank, Southlake Carroll, Stephenville, Weatherford, Granbury, Rockwall, and Wylie.

Central Texas is well represented in the field as 9 teams from the Super Centex will be in the field and those schools include: Waco Midway, Rockdale, Dripping Springs, Lake Travis, College Station A&M Consolidated, Copperas Cove, Pflugerville Connally, Bryan, and Marlin. West Texas features 5 teams in the field: El Paso Del Valle, Alpine, Abilene, Big Spring, and Brownwood who along with Bay City finished unbeaten in SQT play. The panhandle also got a team in as Amarillo Palo Duro will be making the trip down to College Station.

East Texas has more representation than usual as they got 5 teams in the field including defending state champion Tyler Lee. Joining Tyler Lee is Tyler John Tyler, Lufkin, Troup, and Canton. The Golden Triangle region has 3 representatives in Port Arthur Memorial, and 2 Beaumont schools in West Brook and Ozen High. Greater San Antonio has 3 entries as Buda Hays Consolidated, Bandera and Alamo Heights made the big dance. South Texas has 2 entries as Victoria Memorial and Laredo Nixon round out the field.
