The first goal was an own-goal by the Canadians in the first half. The US played to save the one goal margin for most of the game, and didn't attack nearly as much until the last 10 minutes when the Canadians started to threaten.

DaMarcus Beasley then fed Landon Donovan a sweet cross that Landon put in the net off of his bald spot.

Final 2-0.

If US stays in first in their group (US, Costa Rica, Canada, Cuba), they will play...well..it's too complicated right now since it's a 3 group tourney...click on the link

This isn't the World Cup its CONAFCA Gold Cup......or pretty much the North American Cup.....don't know why South Africa is in it tho.

RSA was invited in order to fill out the neccessary three groups. Same with Colombia, who is a member in CONMEBOL, the South American federation.

CONCACAF WCQ is actually a relatively simple process compared to some of the other federations. In UEFA (Europe), it's all based on the end of group play, not a final round like in CONCACAF. So theoretically, if the draw for a group put England, Italy, Germany, Spain, and France together, it would guarantee that three of the best teams in the world wouldn't qualify.

Just google wourld cup qualifying and find the rules for the other confederations. It's a nightmare compared to CONCACAF.

The big thing was that Tiffeny Milbret made her 100th international goal. Only six other women had done so and Mia Hamm leads the total by 158 with second place being 107.
