Hmmmmm, after 1760 yds and 51 touchdowns, you'd think Franco would get more than "Honorable Mention". Must be that North Texas bias coming through. (Dang D/FW conspirators.) :D

i have noticed since i have been reading DCTF that their list and the AP list do not match, for instance Marlin went to state in division II in 2003 and had no one on the AP state team, but the 2004 DCTF had about six Marlin players. i was told that the AP bases their stats on the district schedule and the DCTF is based on the playoffs. can anyone help me out with this?

That list seems insane to me. I see lots of people from teams which did not pass round 2 or 3 in the playoffs first team, and guys who took their teams late into December (Walker Snyder) or who won state (MJ- gilmer) who are way, way down the list. That makes no sense AT ALL!

Rattler's screw up post...

There is an AP All-State and there is a Coach's all-state, he prolly uses the opposite of the one you posted...

Well, the three backs who got first team each had 1700 yards themselves, and unless they have relocated, Liberty Hill, Caldwell and Navasota are not in North Texas...

If you want to see a real screwup, take a look at the recap for 3A Div II regionIV playoffs on pg 339. Notice anything odd?

The Associated Press all-state teams are based only on regular season stats, no playoffs. I guess they figure that the stats would be for an equal amount of games for everyone and not an extra 3-6 games for just a few. It's the same way the NFL does it, no playoff stats involved in their all pro teams.

it beats me to see people rip the mag.....find me something better and then rip it.....I can think of a lot of other sites and mags that aren't as good as DCTF...yes they have mistakes but it is still a great reference

I think he graduated my senior year, 2001, so why in the heck would he be in the mag?

Preach on, Mattt.... These guys talk to coaches, EVERY one of them... then they make their predictions... and SO WHAT if they make a mistake on stats here and there, they're goin' by what the coaches say...

And before you 'try' and rip his content, do research, you may find that 'you are' the one who is wrong...

God Bless the DCTF for giving us some good content, and DANG YOU for ranking Cuero #1 and giving us the target...

Now, Folks, carry on with something WORTH griping about... because y'all hold no clout on this one...
