He decided to go coach Portland. I think Portland offered him more money. Maybe Seattle took him for granted.
Also LeBron James wanted Michael Redd to come to Cleveland but he resigned with the Bucks who probably had more bucks in more ways than one.

NATE McMillan Decided to go coach Portland. Lebron wanted Ray to go to Cleveland, but he resigned with the SUPERSONICS :)

Actually his name is Nate McMillan, but I was very surprised that the Sonics let him get away. That is the only NBA franchise he has ever worked/played for, going back 20 years. So much for being loyal to a good employee...:(
