I am going to go agianst most predictions about my district and go in this order.

1. Barbers Hill
2. Huffman
3. Cleveland
4. Liberty
5. Spendora
6. Tarkington

Huffman will go as the D1 as always & BH should win the district, but with Cleveland's new coach I think that they will take 3rd over Liberty this year. I so it will be the first time in a while that Huffman, BH, & Liberty are not the 3 for our district in the playoffs.

I'll do you one better. We're gonna get beat in the 2nd round by a team with a real coach!

This is so true that its funny. :D

BHBrave08, Your predictions may run true, but I thnk Cleveland will need atleast one year with the new coach before busting into the top three. I do believe however that Cleveland could play the spoiler in district if given a chance

People said that Cleveland could be a spoiler in the district since the UIL put BH with them, and that was in Fall 2002 and they went to the playoffs a grand total of 0 times in that period. BH, Liberty and Huffman have been the playoff teams for our district the last two years (it was Liberty, Coldspring and BH in 2002). Don't expect a new coach to turn around that program in one year over in Cleveland. Look for Liberty, Barbers Hill and Huffman once again from district 23-AAA

I know they are. They have only won like 5 games in the past 3 or 4 years.

anyone besides me want to see

Progresso vs Tarkington in the Dave Campbell Classic...

give at least one of these teams a good big win, and let them experience the playoffs... or at least the atmosphere

Progreso (1) 1990

Its been 49 years since Tarkington has been to a playoff game I think they would give Progreso hell in the DC Classic :D

Getting to the playoffs is the easy part, 23-3a isn't the toughest district in the world ( Dont tell the WOS fans I said that:hand: ). Winning in the playoffs has been the heal for BH. (Except if we were to play WOS :D )

I don't think Orangefield made the playoffs in 04.

Stafford made it in 2004. Lost to Hallettsville in Bi-District.

That's cool. We've had a good run of luck over the last six years when it comes to having kids recruited.

STOP!!! We have a great staff. Our Head coach is a guy who came in as an assistant many years ago and has worked his way up. He has been in charge for 6 or 7 years now i think. We went 3 undefeated district seasons with him.we changed more than one assistant this year for the first time in a while. Our offensive coordinator is one of our former head coaches from the 90's. he had to quit due to health reasons but then came back as our oc. usually by the time we get to the playoffs we have so many people hurt that we are playing with a whole new team. I think that that is why we always have a real hard time in the playoffs.

WOS92

Do you guys play more games during the regular season than other teams or is the conditioning that bad? Sounds like an excuse to me!

BHBrave08
07-07-2005, 06:49 PM
no really our conditioning is very good. being hurt is just like a plague to us though. it won't go away.

WOS92, quit toying with that kid. He has summer school to tend to. You and I both know the studs yall have had over the last 20 years that wrote their own ticket from tremendous talent. The difference is the kids that need a little help phone wise. You have Dan Ray (enough said), and we have....uhhh....that guy over there with the radiant personality!

to me it sounds like most of the pepole or mad at the coaches at bh cause they didnt get to play when they were in high school...or one of their kids dosen't get to play am i right or wrong

or they didn't get to play the position they wanted, or they didn't even play football at BH.

BH coaches are not hated more than any other schools coaches and no less. Coach Price has helped rebuild the program to what it used to be. Barbers Hill people just expect excellance across the board through sports, both boys and girls, to FFA and academic competitions.
