week 0 actually starts on aug 25th with the defending state champ gilmer buckeyes taking on class 4a pine tree. the game is set for 8:00 thursday, the first game of the east texas kickoff classic,sponsored by trinity mother francis hospital system. hopefully the buckeyes will have another season of playing the first and last game. only 50 short days away.

We were in Louisiana last year in late August and they play "Jamborees" there.... I never got the story on what it exactly was, does anyone have any idea?

Those are basically scrimmages with at least three teams ... everyone plays everyone for at least a half.

2 defending state champs and a california team make this a very worthwhile ticket. if it is like last year, one ticket gets you in for all 4 games.
