Bocktoberfest takes place in Shiner, Texas every October in celebration of it's most popular beer, Shiner Bock...

The name is a spin off of the celebration of 'Oktoberfest', a celebration that began in 1810 when King Ludwig I married Maria Teresa... he created a state fair in Munich for the celebration... IT shortly grew into a celebration of the coming of Fall in regions where beer was (And in most cases still is) the most famous product...

So basically it's just an excuse to act German and drink beer... Shiner style...

Last year it featured a local band: Bill Pekar

Two Texas Music bands: Corry Morrow and Asleep at the Wheel

and 4 more nationally know bands: Lyle Lovett, The Kenny Wayne Shepard band, Staind and Kid Rock...

the year before headlined Nickelback and a few other nationally know bands (I think Trapt and 3 Days Grace)...

No tellin' who will be there this year...

sounds like a hoot. somehow i knew with the name bocktoberfest that beer drinking was involved.
