This past season when I was watching some games in the arena and NFL I noticed kickers wearing Revolution helmets that are supposed to help prevent concussions. My question is why do kickers need to wear these types of helmets?

cause kickers can't take a hit and don't know how to tackle correctly. they need the addional protection.

the Schutt DNA's that came out last year are supposedly way better than the Revolutions, the DNA's are very comfortable too

Those are all we wear except for the kids with big heads, they get the Revolution. I like them except it seems like it hurts your head more when you hit someone

thats why you hit with your screws and not the top of your head :)

I don't hit with the top of my head, I'm talking about impact from the side like when you being gang tackled.

i had 98, but also played more games than you, 48 is not bad for a corner at all, how many INT's did you have?

when your playing WR and you catch a ball and fall down, that doesn't count as a tackle for you. :p

Schutt DNA's are too expensive and they require WAY more maintence, special paint, blah-blah-blah.
But hey when you are in the state finals, nothing is too expensive.
I do however think the Schutt DNA's look cooler than the revolution.

I think the paint on the DNA's are metallic?

im not a coach, but i think it was something about voiding any warranty if they are not serviced by and painted by "schutt".
I think our riddell helments have the metallic aggie maroon paint as well.

Those Schutts are alright but, the Revolutions just seem to have a special thing about it, mabey becuase its just way differnent than any other helmet. Plus they are comfortable.

Almost everyday I've had to wear a Schutt helmet I've had a headache. When I traded it out for a revolution, the headaches stopped and there were pancakes for everyone.:D

All we buy is Schutt helmets and I have never heard anything like that. We are trying out a couple of DNAs this year. As for them being expensive I don't think they cost much more than the Revolution. We have one Revolution and it usually sits on the shelf, kids don't like it.
