Total mileage - 2240.6
Cost of gas - $233.90 round-trip
Total cost of tickets - $122.00 (2 tickets for Sat.&Sun. championship games)
Hotel - $86.97
Food, souvenirs & other crap ... $$$$$$$ (you don't want to know!) :D
Experience of being at Rosenblatt Stadium to watch former Sinton player, Adrian Alaniz & THE HORNS WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ----- PRICELESS!!!
My cousin & I had such a great time!!! :thumbsup: The trip took approx. 17 hours each way. We left Sinton on Friday and got back into town yesterday evening. Whirlwind trip, but totally worth it! In all, I think there were 25 of us (Sinton fans) there to support Adrian & his family!! And a whole bunch in *spirit*. ;)
I can not begin to explain what the atmosphere was like, but it was like nothing I'd ever experienced before. Totally surreal b/c just a few days ago I'd been watching from home.
We ran into the "girl with the hair" and I stopped and asked how she'd gotten her hair up like that and she said she used "pop bottles" (aka - coke bottles) and hair sprayed the crap out of her hair!! She was a nice girl and was nice enough to pose for pictures!! :D
PHIL - I was able to meet Cat Osterman & have my picture taken with her!! :p She is very nice & very tall!!! :eek: Several people were taking pictures with her and she was very nice and accommodating to all her fans!! :clap:
Before Saturday's game we were fortunate to be in the right spot at the right time and were able to greet the Longhorn players as they arrived at the field. Formed a line and high 5's all around from the players!!! It was so cool. I got alot of good shots that day! Once I'm back to normal, I'll try and post some pics...no promises though. ;)
After Saturday's game, coming into Rosenblatt on Sunday you could just "feel" the anxiousness of the crowds and the excitement of being a part of history! We broke attendance records and Texas fans out numbered Florida fans and you could see & hear it all over the stadium. :clap: It was truly an amazing experience and one that I hope each of you can enjoy at least once in your lifetime!
I've got a lot of catching up to do at work and on the downlow so I better get to it!!

WOW!! It sounds like you had a wonderful trip!

I have to say...we didn't see alot of troopers/cops on the trip up, but had to be a little more alert on the trip home. :D Still we never did get stopped and didn't have any problems. Thank God! :clap: Good to be back home! Oklahoma stinks. :hairpunk: :D

Welcome back Pirate4State! Glad you had a great trip and know that the time and expense was worth it because of the memories. Long after the game the time and expense will be forgotten but the great memories will always be there. You not only got to watch Texas win the National Championship but got to see a former Sinton Pirate figure predominately in the results. Looking forward to seeing your pictures. And getting to meet the CAT is awesome! Welcome Home!

Did you get her to wear a Sinton cap with the ol' neverending S on it? Phil would probably pay good money for that one and you could recover some of your expenses! :D

Oh my gosh!!! I forgot to tell y'all that I did get Harold Reynolds' autograph!! I tried to take his pic, but my camera was "cold" and he was trying to sign autographs and keep moving at the same time so I settled for an autograph and a half pic of him. Check it out!! :D

I'm at home. I don't see anything w/ a little white box or picture. All I see is your text and the emoticons and Adrian's pic in your sig!! I thought it was my old computer acting up. I'm now on my new laptop and still nothing!!

I don't know what the deal was but I eventually saw them. I went into my user cp and edit options. Where it said to view image attachments,I clicked on NO instead. I went back to the post and it showed a hyperlink I could click on. I changed it back to yes, and I still see NOTHING!!! Still don't know what the deal is but at least I FINALLY got to see them.
