In fact after reading it you will probably be hanging your head in shame and sorrow and be very crestfallen. Now football and baseball and all the sports that we as Americans like are great but we should have some (maybe not a high degree) passion and love for soccer. The rest of the world has a passion and love for soccer that we do not have. It is very popular in South America and Mexico and Europe and even Africa and the Middle East and is popular in the Far East. The rest of the world does not understand why we don't have the fondness for soccer that they have. I can understand that football and basketball and other sports are popular in USA and I don't want to displace them but we should have something positive for soccer. This shame extends to me because I basically only like women's soccer. Still we need to have some passion and love for soccer in order to overcome the shame that we suffer in the eyes of the rest of the world. If we ignore it then the rest of the World will continue to laugh at us in this regard. Oh the shame of it all! Let's get with it my fellow Americans! :(

the rest of the world doesn't take to American football, so why should we take to their game of soccer??

BTW, do you really care what the other countries think about you??

Soccer is boring. That's why I have no passion for it.

Have you tried watching soccer? It's horrific! I'm not going to suffer through that for hours on end just so some British soccerhead doesn't think bad things about me. I certainly don't feel "shame" because I think a sport that is popular internationally is more boring than watching paint dry. I'll say it with pride:

SOCCER SUCKS! SNOOOOOOOOOOOZER!

I'd much rather watch cricket or rugby.

of all the things I might hang my head in shame about....not liking soccer doesn't even make my top 50 list.

I watch soccer for a few reasons:

1: Nothing else is on
2: Sometimes the ball happens to make its way to someones face and/or crotch
3: Better than Golf

I don't watch soccer for alot of resons:

1: Football season
2: sometimes you have to pay for it, and why pay $35 for that when you can get "WWE Vengeance" or "WWE: Divas" for the same if not lower.
3: watching it just ain't the same as playin it.
4: I just don't want to.

So I say who cares about other countries. Sure they watch soccer, but they also show hardcore porn on public TV.
