ESPN's SportsCenter Across America Reply
A film crew will once again visit Permian turf as ESPN rolls into Odessa on August 16. Coca-Cola and American Express are the marquee sponsors. While the majority each day's SportsCenter telecasts will continue to originate from ESPN's Bristol studios, the 50/50 tour will feature a remote anchor desk parked in front of a live audience. A marathon dash across the country's more memorable sports venues, SportsCenter Across America will visit 50 states in 50 days, beginning with Fenway Park in Boston, Mass., July 17 as the Red Sox take on the New York Yankees. Fairbanks, Alaska will host the July 21 show during the World Eskimo - Indian Olympics.

The tour will pick up a national dart championship from Las Vegas, Nevada on August 3. Say Aloha to the Hawaiian Canoe Racing Regatta from Maui on August 6. The Panthers will represent the state of Texas on August 17 during a Permian practice. The television crew will leave the Permian Basin and head for Snowshoe Mountain, West Virginia on August 18. The Saint Paul, Minnesota Inline Marathon has been selected as the broadcast site for the August 21 airing. The tour passes through Chicago, Illinois on August 22 for a Cubs game against the Atlanta Braves.

The show's Oklahoma stop will be on September 2 in McAlester. The network will broadcast a prison rodeo, taking place at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. SportsCenter Across America heads home after a Battle Axe Throw from Allis, Wisconsin on September 4.

Other rumored events are to include: a jousting tournament (Maryland), a duck-calling (Louisiana), Memphis' Elvis 5K Run (Tennessee), Snake River Rodeo (Idaho), Foosball (Virginia), Windsurfing (Oregon), Lost Prairie Skydiving (Montana), Freestyle Frisbee (Washington), and a Blueberry Pie-Eating Contest (Maine).
