I don't know that I would call Homer "hick". I was one of Homer's teachers in his younger years. Homer is a down to earth, totally honest, country boy...he doesn't pretend to be anything more. As I have known him he has always been a 'yes ma'am, no ma'am' type of guy. Hick....heck no Homer is not a hick.

He enjoys the same stuff most young men enjoy. If you think Homer is a hick then you probably think the majority of the Texas population of guys are hicks.

I think this poll is stupid.

In this day and age when we have all these gangsta' wife beating athletes I think we could use some more like Homer Bailey.

Homer was the La Grange pitcher, graduated 2004. I never actually got to see him play, but one of the Austin tv stations covered a pretty indepth story on him in the '04 season. The boy can PITCH!! He seemed pretty down to earth, from the interview.

Where does such and ignorant post come from. For you to post this question has to come from someone that is jealous or just plain stupid. I coached Homer during summer baseball, he is your normal kid with a great deal of confidence in what he wants to accomplish. So take your poll and S_ _ _ _ it.

So true! I like his honesty and how down to earth this kid is.

I got the pleasure of talking to Homer at a tournament in Weimer. He answered me with a string of yes sirs and no sirs. A very polite and down to earth person. I can't wait to see him pitch in the Major Leagues.

From the article it sounds like he's rather snooty.

"It's scary how much I know about rifles. I've killed a lot of stuff. "
"We kill so many of them that we have to give them to friends. "
"I just tell them, chances are good I'm going to kill one"
"messed up and I had a thousand-dolloar cowboy hat that was demolished."
"It's a top of the line hat that I like to wear"
"Baseball is just something I do because I’m good at it."

Now before all you LG poster tear me a new one. I know its all about perception and the way you interepret it. But the article has him sounding well, snooty.

You just have to know him to know that he is in no way SNOOTY. It all goes back to what we have been taught. Do not judge others by what is on the outside. You must get to know someone and experience them before you have a right to critisize them. :) (this post was not intended to tear you a new one...just my opinion in life)

That's my normal reaction to my brother when he walks around like that. That also includes the jogging pants/cowboy boot combo he's so fond of. :D ;)

LOL!!

I thought my son's friends called him Tweeder because of the way he dressed sometimes....boots with ANYTHING.

But as I did a search for a pic...I realized something else...he looks alot like tweeder, in this pic anyway!

I didn't read the whole article because I have to go, but just the fact that he bought a shotgun he still hasn't shot yet is enough to call him something. :D
