Heck AggieJohn...I saw him pitch and helped win the College World Series in Omaha, when you were just about a month old.

But hey...age will catch up with us all and check out what the old man did today against KC.

Clemens (5-3) allowed four hits, struck out six and walked three, lowering his major league-leading ERA to 1.53. The Rocket, ninth on the careers wins list, has not surrendered a run in five road starts this year spanning 32 innings.

I wonder what ever happened to Greg Swindell??? I know he played for the Injuns a little while... did he ever do anything at the big league level?

Yea...he had a successful career. Played 16 years with a record of 123 wins with 122 losses and an ERA of 3.86...With that many years and an overall ERA of that caliber against the best in the Majors I would say that he was rather successful.

That was probably the best duo of pitchers the college game has ever seen.

Greg was a 3 time All-American '84, '85 & '86 (Freshman in '84). Roger however, never made it once?

Really? I could've sworn he was. Crazy.

Clemens & Swindell were not together at UT. Swindell came in '84 while Roger left after National Title in '83. Roger only played there for 2 years after San Jac (under Wayne Graham). Calvin Schiraldi was the ace in '83, not Clemens. In fact, Clemens was the 3rd pitcher on his high school team at Spring Woods. Top 2 were Raynor Noble (UH coach) & Mike Capel (played at Texas & MLB too). Clemens threw 84 mph in high school, really started developing under Graham at San Jac. Swindell is a volunteer coach at UT now (pitchers, 1st base coach). Just a little FYI.
