Don Julio's OK, but Herradura's better in the price range.

Jager's too sweet/bitter for me. The only thing I like it in is Sex with an Alligator.

That could be. The only reason I know the price across the border is that one of hubby's co-workers picked up a bottle for him a couple of weeks ago.

It's always cheaper to buy in bulk. When I worked at Trout Street in Port Aransas, a shot of Patron Anejo would run you (if I remember correctly) $10. Buy a round of shots for the boys, it's gonna be $46 more or less with a proper tip. Go down to Jesse's Liquor and you can pick up a bottle for that much, and you'll have some 10-15 shots left over.

BTW, Patron, Don Julio and Herradura all run in the $35-$50 price range, depending on whether you get an Anejo, Blanco or Reposado.

I am not sure where this drink originated, but it is a very popular shooter in Florida. It is a take-off of the popular cocktail, Sex on the Beach and is just as tasty and fruity. This is aptly named as it will bite like an alligator or have you wondering just what you did while drinking them last night. The Jagermeister gives it just a little snap without the full Jagermeister flavor.
INGREDIENTS:

Midori
Malibu rum
Pineapple juice
Chambord
Jagermeister
PREPARATION:

Shake equal parts of Midori, Malibu and pineaple juice over ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Drop a dash of Chambord into the glass. It will fall to the bottom. Float a thin layer of Jagermeister on top.

Couldn't tell you where to buy up in the Bridgeport area, but if you go to one of the higher-end liquor stores they can usually get their hands on some. See if they can order it for you. I have to do that whenever I decide to splurge on Don Eduardo (which isn't often... I'm poor).

Thanks Russ! It sounds dangerous, I don't "do" fruity drinks very well. They never seem to come back up as smoothly as they go down.:D

LOL. It's actually not too bad. For all the watermelon, pineapple, coconut and raspberry flavor in there it's not super fruity.

Good Idea Russ, I have tried to get the local guys to order some but they don't have the connections.

I will try Sigels, etc down in DFW.
