You missed one! The very first girl picked by the Coaches was Meagan Godwin of Bridge City--Coach Kori Tyler....I realize it was just an omission on your part--this girl has been an All-Stater for several years and will play for the Louisiana-Lafayette team as a centerfielder. She has hit a lot of HRs in her career thus far.

Don't forget that is the ALL-STATE team, not the ALL-STAR team. The ALL-STAR team is picked by a different committee and the team will be posted when all of the players confirm their participation in the game. One other thing -- if a player is an ALL-STAR, they are still considered ALL-STATE by the TGCA even though they may not appear on the ALL-STATE list.

I wish I could tell you who is on the team, but I have to wait.

Coach Vinklarek of La Grange will not be back next year, will still teach.

How come none of the girls from Orange Grove made it? After all they were Ranked No. 7 in the State until Sinton beat them in the playoffs.

I don't know.....I wasn't on that committee. I've fielded a lot of e-mails concerning that, but that may be a good thing because we had a record number of nominations and when that happens there are going to be some good players left off, but it's a sign that more coaches are getting their nominations in and doing a better job of it and that is what I've been trying to accomplish for the last several years.

I see only Kimmy Lee made it from the awesome La
grange team! Bellville, Barbers Hill, Orangefield, Huffman, Lindale, Huntington had a few great players.

Maybe if they played a tougher schedule they would get some props. The All-Sate team looks pretty good.
