Who's got 'em???

Gotta mention, dangit, what's his name, that guy from Rice Consolidated, Huffman or something? He's good, he'll be running all over the place next year...

Who else?

Terius Purvey(sp) from Gainesville will probably be the DCTF 3A Coverboy this year. He has been awesome for two years already, and will probably be a big time bluechip this fall.

i thought the huffman guy (curtis crew) was a senior last year....i think liberty's top rusher is returning...i dunno if he will be one of the best in the state...but he could compete in area and should compete for all district since all liberty does is run like 90% of the time....

Actually it was Spears who was a senior at Rice Consolidated... And as his Let-Jacket said, "Mr. Spears"... Great back and pretty nice guy from what I've seen and heard... But Huffman will be back and he's a good one...

bd62 - Nah, he's not a good one, only 8 yards per carry (okay 7.599999234238742384 or whatever a carry) ha... He would have rushed for more than 1,268 if he didn't share the load with our senior back, I think he hit 1,000 as well... Everyone in Cuero thinks 'Robert Strait' when we see this kid run...

That's right Gobbla. Charles Huffman will be a force to be reckoned with. He will definitely be tacking on some yards!! And as for Mike Spears, he is a great athlete and a terrific young man. Always has a smile on his face. Good Luck to him at Blinn this upcoming year.

gobbla whats amazing about cooper is that last yr. was his first yr. at running back. past coaches had him at wide reciever. maybe reeves will rethink that. haha.

We'll be pretty deep at recievers and rb's next year, but I think we'll need Latrael carrying the rock cuz he's one of the toughest guys out there...

Got any stud RB's running for the 'Dogs this coming year you'd like to tell me about, or are we going to just have to find out the hard way? ha

they are all returning but they did not show much last yr.between all 3 they rushed for about 1200 yds.if it was not for our passing game we would have been in trouble last yr. they are fast enough but they dont run tough like the backs we had . like greg price and anthony harrison.thats what they are working on this off season.

Price gave us a beating my senior season ('00), had to tackle him by the legs...

What about that number 22 in '00? That kid ran straight ahead without a care in the world just nailing guys...

That was a good group of backs...

he is back as a linebacker. made all-dist. at linebacker they hope that they want have to play him both ways all the time. they have a couple of kids that will be jrs. that they hope can handle the fullback job.one of them has good speed.

Chris Smith is one of the top returning rb's in the state. He rushed for over 1700 yds last season in a one back system. He is an impressive specimen.

The Tank from Marlin will be fun to watch.
But by far the best returning RB is Terrius Purvey of Gainesville. And since starting QB Chris Brown is gone and a new starter still hasnt been named im guessing that he will probably be getting the ball more this year, surpassing his numbers from last season.

Even though Stephen Hodge is listed as a QB, I would consider him to be a pretty good RB. They may make some adjustments this year in the offensive scheme so he doesn't have to scramble so much, but that kid is slippery when he breaks.
And he got 185 yards against the Gilmer Buckeyes, who were according to the logic on this site, the 3rd best team in D2 last year as a result of the point spread in the Atlanta game.
