This district is probably the most dominating and most underappreciated district in the state in all classifications. Not only did this district match the accomplishments of the East Texas 4A district, they ended up with a three way tie for the district title. One team ending up as the state champion, another running into a district foe in the state quarterfinals and the other losing in the state semifinals.

what district am i referring to?

when one person answers it correctly, then that person post the next trivia question.. have fun! :D

8/27/04 TBA Taft (TX)W 52-0 - 2a school that went 1-9
9/3/04 TBA @Gregory-Portland (Portland, TX) L 7-31
9/10/04 TBA West Oso (Corpus Christi, TX) W 43-13
9/17/04 TBA Jones (Beeville, TX) W 56-7
9/24/04 TBA @Cuero (TX) L 28-35
10/1/04 TBA @Orange Grove (TX) W 28-0
10/8/04 TBA Goliad (TX) ** W 37-20
10/15/04 TBA @Aransas Pass (TX) ** W 54-9
10/22/04 TBA Mathis (TX) ** W 53-12
10/29/04 TBA @Ingleside (TX) ** W 45-20
11/12/04 12:00 AM vs Crystal City (TX) (Gustafson Stadium (San Antonio, TX)) W 61-12
11/19/04 12:00 AM vs Zapata (TX) (Cabiness Athletic Complex (Corpus Chr...) W 43-6
11/26/04 12:00 AM vs Cuero (TX) (Alamodome (San Antonio, TX)) L 0-31

im not saying sinton didnt have a good team last year, they had a great season, im just saying their schedule was no where near being the most difficult in the state...

It will be even tougher this year Jason. Taft will be much improved and they have a new dynamic young coach who is from Taft and this is such a long and great rivalry that anything can happen. What a way to start a season against a tough team like this!
Gregory-Portland a 4A power. Nuff said!

West Oso who is always a playoff team and very tough. Beware of the Howling Bear!

Beeville Jones another 4A tough team and Soza will have them much improved this year. :(

Cuero who is No. 1 in the State! And Cooper is back! Nuff said!

Orange Grove another well respected consistently good playoff team.

Goliad who got into the playoffs last year. UIL didn't do us any favors putting them in our district. Plus this year's game is in Goliad. That increases the risk.

Aransas Pass along with a new outstanding coach who helped them in their glory years a few years ago. Good times are coming for AP again. :(

Mathis who is always tough year in and year out. Should be even tougher next year.

Ingleside who was tough last year and should even be tougher this year. They made the playoffs last year too.

Then we get into the playoffs which is tough especially since we will be in Division 1 and will probably be the smallest school in that.

Tough indeed!

Jason....I was thinking of Harrell when I presented the question but I was looking for a website to back up what I was thinking and couldn't find one. Collier sharp only went up to 2003 and they had Wasson from Southlake Carroll, but I thought that Graham beat his mark. I guess I should have confirmed first and asked the question later.....lets go ahead and call you the champ on that question!

name the teams that have accomplished this:

won the 7 on 7 state tournament and then gone on to win their state championship in the same year...
