Did you notice how many runs they scored against both teams. Over 20 runs in the State Tournament. I bet that is some kind of record. And they didnt just beat the #1 team in class 4A, they crushed them...

District that is why ratings are meaningless and you have to go do it on the field. In fact all it does is add extra pressure especially if you have to have it all year long. That may have hurt Moody.

Even though Yoakum lost in the semis Region 4 has done well at the baseball tournament this year. Thorndale won the 1A State Championship and Calallen won the 4A State Championship.

Moody is one year removed from a National Title, in my opinion, Calallen is the 3rd best program in the south texas area. Moody is the first
Sinton is the second
Calallen is third

Calallen is a much stronger team than Sinton.

i said program not team. look at their respective histories... sinton has one coach who has taken them to 7 state tournaments, 4 final games, and 3 state championships. He has more appearances than any other coach in the history of 3A baseball in the State Tournament. I would put Sintons program past Calallens program, not just going off of one season, but their storied pasts.

Thanks for all the well-wishes from a diehard CalCat! I was visiting my dad in Calallen during my vacation, right after they won and it's really cool to see the effect something like that has on the community, just a lot of positive spirit. I'd say between us, Moody, Sinton, and Robstown, we've got the Mt. Rushmore of Texas HS baseball within 15 miles of each other... That sounds like one heck of an annual round-robin tournament to me.
