In sixth inning to probably no one's surprise UCLA has taken charge and is ahead 5 to 0. Not enough rest for Michigan. Everything has been UCLA's way in this tournament and they have taken advantage of it. They will win the national championship again this year which though good for UCLA is starting to be bad for college softball.

She is great and she beat out the pitcher that led UCLA to the National Championship two years ago and last year. I remember her performance in adverse circumstances when she was a freshman was remarkable two years ago. She plays first base now. She lost a lot of weight compared to two years ago. She moved to first base in a very unselfish move and can still be a pitcher relief if needed.

Michigan wins game 2 and ties the series by beating UCLA 5 - 2. Tomorrow night's game is for the national championship and will be on ESPN. This is gonna be the most exciting Wednesday night of my life. Glued to my tv set.

Phil, I really do appreciate softball, but the situation that was described regarding the UCLA pitching staff change illuminated the one thing I don't like. It's sometimes far fetched to call softball a "team" sport. If you have one super pitcher, you can do lots of good. Example; Texas with Cat and how A&M did until Scarborough went down.

I've tried and tried to watch and get into other sports, but nothing gets my blood pumping like the gridiron battles.:)

Michigan finally wins 4 to 1 in extra innings and are the 2005 NCAA softball national champions - the first time a team from east of the Mississippi River has won it even though it may be misleading because some of their key players are from Arizona and California. Great game by both teams. Both teams had chances to win it earlier but good defense and good pitching kept the game going.

Sure glad you enjoyed the game. Maybe we can get that title to the Big 12 next year.

Michigan and UCLA both have their main players coming back so they will be great next year but they won't have the element of surprise this year and other teams should be ready to give them better games. I hope UT can get their bats going to support CAT and Meagan.

UT needs to recruit another pitcher and some hitting.
Their offense is atrocious.
And I am not just referring to the hitting (or lack thereof) at the World Series, because there was some very good pitching.
