I normally wouldn't make this post, but I feel it's necessary to braoden your cultural horizon.

Today at 2pm on ESPN, the United States Men's National Soccer team is playing a friendly match against England. This should be an exciting match that has the opportunity to prove to the world that the USA can hang with the big boys, and threaten to win a World Cup in the very near future.

After that, FC Dallas, formerly the Dallas Burn, of Major League Soccer is playing D.C. United at 6:30pm on FSN Southwest. FC Dallas is currently the hottest team in the Western Conference, and play an attacking style of soccer that would appeal to the person who randomly turns on FSN during the game.

This game might also be a good way to preview the talent level of what MIGHT be coming to Houston and/or San Antonio in the next MLS expansion, which looks set for 2007 now, because San Antonio has drug their feet.

So there, maybe some of the "other" football to tide you over until football season!
