that doesn't matter. Region 3 is the overall strongest in all sports combined!

are we talking all sports here or just plain producing product?

I have no problem with everyone on here thinking their
Region is the best. I think Region III is the best and let me qualify---best in OVERALL sports; that includes X-Country, Track, Tennis, Volleyball-the whole gamet of HS sponsored sports.

I would suspect their strongest suite however would be academics. I know the group I follow BC, has the following wins at UIL State Competition.
First in Ready Reading Competition
Math Team Second place General Math
Calculator Third place
Numbers Sense Fifth place
Now I know that Barbers Hill and many others did very well at competition also.

Good point Old Cardinal. Not only is region 3 better at overall sports but we are better at academics too.

Judging only by what i've read in the very liberal Caller Times...i feel that region 3 is superior..

maybey because they expect to be?

if we are talking football it usually switches year in and year out from Reg 2 to Reg 3......those 2 regions are always the deepest...Reg 1 and 4 produce their share of strong teams but those regions lack the depth that 2 and 3 have...although Region 1 has improved a lot the past couple of years

The UIL Academic Meet is the lamest you know what I've ever come across. So I wouldn't base judgement on that--that is if you knew all of the behind the scenes info.

Region 2 has the state champions in both football (Gilmer) and basketball (Van) and a strong contender in Carthage to win state in baseball.
