One of the most overhyped stadiums I've ever been to, but that's just my opinion!

It is indeed nice, just didn't live up to all the hype.

What was wrong with Sweetwaters turf? Is it just because you lost two games on it?

What's wrong with it??

I have to admit, I was so impressed with it that I had to go down to the field and touch it for myself!

oh you are mistaken it has been packed on many occasions, my senior year we played greenwood for homecoming and a mighty crowd showed up. But the fullest I have ever seen the Bowl is during a 4A playoff game between Andrews and Stephenville and the place was jam packed people were standing out side the fence around the whole bowl it was a sight

The Andrews - Stephenville game, considered by many the state championship, was a classic. Shaud Williams (Former RB for Texas Tech, Alabama) VS. Kelan Luker (now in the band Submersed, this guy rewrote the records for passing in 4A)

Hereford and Weartherford also brought a pretty huge crowd the next year.

No i have actually won on that field twice....out of two times...the stadium is ok...but the field has one of the worst turf ever

My bad Pmoney...I didnt even think of freshman and JV teams playing at the bowl. Sweetwater has only lost one game on that turf, and that was to Greenwood in 2003.

The turf is not as good as several stadiums around. It is pretty.

The turf blades are wide and longer then most so this makes it slippery. If you practice there you can ajust though. The best field turf is at Midland Grande stadium then Lowery field, Shotwell, Texas Stadium, Brownwood, San Angelo then sweetwater. Not saying anything about the mustang bowl but the turf is not very good. This is just my take on the surface though. You are right about sweetwaters record on that turf though. What about the record on grass since that time? Just curious?

wildstangs

Hmm..not sure I know the exact record. All three of Sweetwaters losses last year came on grass (Lubbock Cooper, Abilene Wylie, and Snyder @ Big Spring)

ya thats why our coaches wanted to play at big spring

What is the win loss record since they have put in turf. What about Win loss record on grass. I think the only team to beat Sweetwater on turf in 3 years is Greenwood
