Texas A&M soccer signee Cydne Currie will participate in the U-21 U.S. National Team training camp from May 22-28 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Currie (Irving, Texas)c, who will be a freshman at A&M in the fall, completed her high school exams early in order to attend the largest-ever Women’s National Team Program training camp. The U-20 and U-21 training camps will be held concurrently with each team bringing in 32-player rosters.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Cydne,” commented A&M head coach G Guerrieri. “She is already a great player and to go and be seen and coached by the national team coaches at an event like this can only make her better. This is a great start to the next step in Cydne’s soccer career.”

Currie, who was recently named a Parade All-American, will join the perennially nationally-ranked Aggie soccer team in the fall as part of another stellar signing class under Guerrieri and his staff. Last season the Aggies’ 11-member freshman class was ranked No.1 in the nation and helped lead the Aggies to the Big 12 Regular Season and Tournament championships.

Great news indeed AggieJohn! Also three of the UT players got invited to participate also. They are sophomore forward Kelsey Carpenter, Freshman midfielder Stephanie Logterman and Lady Longhorn recruit Kasey Moore a defender. This can only make all the ladies better players and more enjoyment for all of us this fall.
In addition Kelly Wilson who now has the last name Schmedes will participate in the Under 21 roster. Kelly is a former Longhorn and All American! Good job indeed and good luck to all the ladies.
