95 was the second championship of Sealy's 4-peat, and the hardest earned one at that. They won a 21-20 barnburner over over a good Commerce team, but the 92 Southlake Carroll team was IMO the greatest 3A team of all time. They were just simply amazing, just plain out DOMINANT. I didn't say the best defensive team(although they had a great one), we all know that was the Daingerfield team of 83. But as far as an all around great team this was the ONE. Southlake in a Landslide in this one!

yes i like to respond on the 95 team of sealy tigers, certainly they was good ,but u know what they are back harder than ever in 04. they are returning 16 starters and they have the all state 2nd team runningback, coming back with over 1600 yds and 18 tds 6 was in one game and 321 yds so we look for an eciting year. :)

I'd have to take SLC in this one also..I think the 94 Sealy squad was the best of their 4 consecutive championships anyway..

Who cares about Sealy now? I sure don't.

I agree, SLC 1992 was possibly one of the best 3A teams to ever play in Texas. I did get to see Sealy 1995 play in their semi-final game with Cuero though, but still, I think their 1994 team was better than the 1995 team. SLC 1992 annihilates Sealy 1995.

This would be a helluva game. But, Im kinda biased on this one; the LB for the '92 SLC team is my brother-in-law, so I gotta go with the Dragons in a very close one.

I would have to take SLC because I found out first hand how good they were. Will Mantooth (gotta love the name), Dane Johnson, TBone McCaskill. They were loaded. We had them pinned on their own 2 and they took it 98 yards and broke our backs. We couldn't ever get back in it.

I got SLC in a tight one. That Sealy team is a lot better than everyone seems to think. They not only shut out five consecutive teams during the regular season, they also tacked on shutouts against LaGrange, Needville, and a tough squad from Sweeny. I didn't even mention a 49-19 win over state-ranked Columbus; an ugly, ugly, ugly win over Newton in the playoffs; and a 17-14 win over the best team Cuero fielded throughout the 90's (led by future NFL-er Clint Finley). The Gobblers had like 7 kids off that team go Division I and I want to say that their big tackle from that season also wound up making an NFL practice squad... and the Tigers took 'em out.
