In Ingleside and the surrounding area, it's taquito. Heck, one of our places in Ingleside is called the Taquito Factory.

Those of "us" on the eastern end of San Patricio County call them taquitos. I think '66 is probably right, it is all Whataburger's fault!:D

Actually, in AP, Angel's Bakery has the best and yes they refer to them as breakfast tacos. Old habits are just hard to break.;)

This is a BREAKFAST TACO

I ate breakfast Saturday in Austin at a real Mexican place across the highway from our hotel. Everything on the breakfast menu that came in a tortilla (corn or flour) was a taco. It's pretty simple. Unless it's folded and rolled, it's a taco! And real Mexican tacos don't have lettuce.

Well down near the border they're taquitos, in the hole in the walls down here they're taquitos, in the hole in the walls down there they're taquitos...

We have a lot of 'illegals' waiting on papers where I work, they're fresh outta Mexico and 'they' call them taquitos...

So I vote 'taquito'

I dunno, man... We ate at a Mexican place in Stillwater, Minnesota once... seemed 10 times more authentic then a lot of the Mexican places around here, and the food tasted like that of a hole in the wall (what we view as authentic 'down here' I guess)... but I'm sure they called theirs 'Yankee Wraps' or something ha...

but before they come over from mexico, they say "make sure you try and speak English. use the term 'taquito' when you want a taco. otherwise those white people will be confused" :D

I googled each of these. Here's what I found:

Results 1 - 10 of about 3,120,000 for breakfast burrito.
Results 1 - 10 of about 814,000 for breakfast taco.
Results 1 - 10 of about 4,790 for breakfast taquito.

Looks like the burritos win. :D

Heh! Found this article (http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:e8p51Sw6IVkJ:www.bee-picayune.com/story166.shtml+breakfast+taquito&hl=en) while doing that last search. Neat article. Never heard of beans on a breadfast "burrito", though.

can't go wrong there!

I think they're breakfast tacos...our Taco Shack out here in Manor sells breakfast tacos--could be defined as burritos, but then again it also sells hamburgers at lunchtime, so one may never know.To me, at breakfast you eat a breakfast taco, at lunch you eat tacos, taquitos or chimichangas depending on how hungry you are, then at dinner, just give me an enchilada! :D

From the article:

"A typical taquito has a very short life span as it is aggressively devoured within two minutes from the time it is taken out of the bag."

That is, of course, unless it has been purchased by Ranger Mom when she is running late. :evillaugh :evillaugh :evillaugh

Isn't there an old military term for this, abbreviated to SOS (s*** on a shingle)?

size matters

tacos are smaller- folded
burritos are much bigger- rolled
taquitos are small and rolled

all can be good.....some are just bad.
