I saw the list on another site. It was a copy/paste job so I don't know if it's official or not. Ingleside was on the "close" list. CCAD and NAS CC were on the "realign" list. I didn't see NAS Kingsville on there at all.

Here's a PDF file I found online with the complete list. It's kinda hard to understand but you'll get the drift. Texas is on page 24.

It wasn't that long ago they spend all those millions of dollars on Naval Station Ingleside. What a waste of taxpayer's money! Rest easy America - your tax dollars are at work or rather being wasted. This will have a big negative impact on Ingleside and the school district which was almost probably going to be Division 1 in our district.

i guess if you live by the military base, you die by the military base. good luck to Ingleside and C.C. for a quik recovery.

not a waste Phil C. if the money wasnt spent on Ingleside, it would have been spent elsewhere. thats how our government works. the town was built by the navyand hopefully after a short downturn, it will be utilized as something else. had the navy not come to ingleside, it would be a shadow of the town it is today or will be in the future.

I hope you are right. At least their is some new industry coming. But for towns that get future military sites don't get too dependent on them. It was right after that base was made that they threatened to close it though. It did hang on for ten years but I don't think cities should get too dependent on military bases. They will leave you high and dry.

As you know the proposed list is out. I work at Naval Sation Ingleside and we are to be closed. We have a base meeting at 11:00 and will get more information then. I am pretty safe but it will affect many families. I have been throuh this before, I worked at Naval Air Station Chase at Beeville when that base closed, so I am familiar with what happens. It is never pretty. I wish luck to all those involved and will pray for the best for everyone. Maybe I'll take up announcing ball games professionally, any takers? Will keep all informed as I get more word.
