Refugio wins girls 2005 state championship in golf!!

I know it is 2A but this is great news indeed. The girls were 13 stokes behind but came back with to win it by 13 strokes over Sonora. So someone must have had a terrific day and someone a terrible day. Good news indeed! Congratulations Girls!

30-3A Ingleside High School sophomore Katie Belser is headed back to the state golf tournament for the second year in a row.

She shot a 79 to win the district title at the Sinton Municipal Golf Course. At the Regional tournament in Kingsville she shot an 85 and a 79 for a 164 total to place fourth and qualified to go to Austin as a medalist. Katy went to Austin last year as a freshman and tied for 15th. This year's state tournament is May 12-13 at the Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin.

Way to go Katie and good luck in Austin! We are proud to have you representing our district!:D
