CORPUS CHRISTI – The Corpus Christi Hooks return home to Whataburger Field tomorrow to begin a seven-game homestand against the Springfield Cardinals (May 5-7) and Arkansas Travelers (May 8-11). The fun starts with “Thirsty Thursday” ½ price beer and soda. Each and every “Thirsty Thursday” is presented by Circle K and CITGO, bring in a receipt from Circle K on Thursdays and get $1 off the price of admission. Also, all fans attending tomorrow nights game will receive a Hooks mini-poster perfect for autographs, courtesy of the Caller-Times. The fun continues on Friday with another edition of “Friday Fireworks,” a magnificent post-game fireworks show brought to you by Bud Light. On Saturday the first 2,500 Hooks fans will receive a Hooks Bucket Hat courtesy of the Willow Financial Group. Each game (Thu-Sat.) starts at 7:05, but gates to Whataburger Field open at 5:30 pm.
Sunday is another H.E.B. Kid’s Day, with a special 2:05 pm start. The first 1,500 kids 12 & under will receive a Hooks “Nolan Ryan Growth Chart,” courtesy of Cheez-It, a Kellogg’s snack. Gates on Sunday open at 12:30 pm. Monday is $1 Hot Dogs and Soda, and groups of 20 or more can come for ½ price on Tuesday. ARE YOU HUNGRY – Hopefully during the Hooks first homestand you were able to try out all the various concessions at Whataburger Field, from the Nolan Ryan Grill, to pizza, to popcorn and even a Whataburger. The Hooks would like to remind all season ticket holders that you can also go up to the Cotton Club and get an outstanding buffet from Waterstreet Restaurants. Tomorrow’s menu includes Shrimp K-Bobs and Beef K-Bobs, Assorted Grilled Vegetables and Rice Pilaf, Spring Salad with WaterStreets Famous Walnut Dressing, Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Key Lime and Cheesecake Tarts for Dessert. The menu changes daily and features other specials including Blackened Catfish, Seafood Gumbo, Shrimp Enchiladas, Mesquite Grilled Beef Fajitas, Chicken Rockefeller and Sautéed Tilapia just to name a few. The Cotton Club is located on the suite level, just show your season ticket to a suite usher and they can direct you to the club.
